Union Sportive Douala beat AS Dibamba to Progress to the Cameroon Cup semi-final

Ismaila Sidou Philippe Marie’s goals clinches a 2-0 win for Union Sportive Douala in Sunday’s quarter-final against AS Dibamba at the Annex 1 Stadium in Douala ; defeat ends AS Dibamba hopes of making it to the semi-final for the first time; Union Sportive Douala will face either PWD Bamenda or Avion Academy or Djiko Fc in the semi-final

Union Sportive Douala ended AS Dibamba to qualify for to the semi’s for the first time. Ismaila and substitute Philippe Marie goals secured a 2-0 win at the Annex 1 Stadium in Douala to send Richard Towa side through to the Cameroon Cup semi-final.

There was an early warning for Union of Douala by the Regional league side to prove they are equal to the task to make it to the Semi’s

Union’s wing-backs then combined for the best chance of the first half, with passes and cross but most of the balls hit the cross-bar

AS Dibamba dominated possession in the  first segment, a rarity for any side of the Regional league against Union Sportive Douala, and they went close to score with a first-time shot a few yards wide from 25 yards out following a corner.

Union Douala grew into the game as the half wore on but lacked their usual incisiveness in possession and could only muster a couple of half-chances

The second half was a well-anticipated one as it took Ismail Sidou just 11 minutes to open scoring for the Elite one one side which break the hearts of AS Dibamba

The Regional League Side gave it their all after the goal and finally created a clear opportunity when the ball fell kindly to Camille but Moussongo was left with his head in his hands as the attacker short was save by the goalkeeper

Philippe Marie made the game save at the 90th minute with a clear finish to put the Elite one side two up (2-0)

Ismaila And Philippe goals proved sufficient, though, and Union Sportive Douala will be one of the favourites for the final when they face either PWD or Avion Academy or Djiko Fc in the semi-final
