Colombe Sportive of the Dja and Lobo has announced that they have parted ways with their coach, Jules Abah Onana, following a series of poor results.
Colombe are winless in their first two games this season, picking up just two points, with draws against UMS and Tonnerre Kalara club.
Their latest goalless draw against TKC on Sunday March 22, 2021 at the Yaoundé Omnisport Stadium, seemingly did not go down well with the administration of the club from the South region. Colombe wasted several glaring chances in that game, but were only saved by the vigilance of Goalkeeper Armand Kuipo, who was named their Man Of the Match.
According to a note from the media Officer of Colombe, Willy Arnold Nyatte, Jule Abah Onana will no longer be in the charge of colombe. The team will be handled by hitherto assistant to Onana, Fils Baudouin Patrick Ondobo.
” Jules Abah Onana sidelined from the Colombe Sportive du Sud. Decision taken this morning by the Chairman of the Board of Directors André Noël ESSIAN at the end of a tenuous communication in the presence of the members of the technical staff, the players and some leaders of the Supporters Club . This decision comes the day after the draw conceded against TKC (0_0). Fils Beaudouin Ondobo who was until now assistant coach will assume the duties of interim head coach of the Colombe”. A note from the media Officer of Colombe reads.
Jules Abah Onana joined Colombe in July 2020, replacing Gabriel Zabo, who left for Stade Renard. Despite huge investments in the transfer market, the former TKC and Eding Sport’s tactician have not succeeded in convincing the administration of colombe. The club currently sits seventh in pool B, while awaiting a final decision on their failed day one fixture against New stars of Douala.
Onana is now the third coach to leave the dugouts of a top flight club, after just three match days, after Guy Bertin Djepnang left his post at fortuna after the first rounds of games, while François Heya was fired at Eding Sport, and replaced by Stephane Ndzana.
