🇨🇲PWD’s team bus burnt to ashes en route to Yaoundé

Cameroon League one Champions, PWD Social football Club of Bamenda, have suffered a fire accident which led to their team bus burnt to ashes.

The Abakwa Boys left Bamenda on Thursday evening and were on their Way to Yaoundé for a Match against Dragon Sportive of Yaoundé on Saturday, counting for the third day of play of the 2020_2021 Football season.

Halfway into their journey, the team bus caught Fire, just few meters away from Makenene.

All attempts to quench their fire yielded no fruits. Fortunately, no human life has been lost, though they have suffered a lot of material damages, according to club officials.

The team wrote on its official Twitter handle;

“S A D NEWS😞. The management of PWD Social football Club of Bamenda wishes to announce to the general public, fans and sympathizers of the team that, our team suffered a fire disaster en route to Yaoundé. The team bus caught fire on the highway, and burnt to ashes. Thank God no human life was lost. All the players are safe and sound.”.

The bus had on board 17 players, two staff, and the driver. The players have however continued their journey to Yaoundé, where they’re expected to play Dragon on Saturday March 20, 2021, at the Yaoundé Annex 1 Stadium, as from 2pm.
