Cameroon’s U20 lions will face host Mauritania in the opening game of the U20 AFCON this Sunday as from 8pm at the Olympic stadium in Nouakchott.
Ahead of the game, U20 lions head coach Ousmanou Christophe, has named his starting XI, and surprisingly neither Etienne Eto’o or Enzo Tchato, have made it into the Starting XI. Etienne and Enzo are son’s of former Indomitable lions legends, Samuel Eto’o and Bill Tchato, and were part of the foreign contingent of players called in to reinforce the squad.
Ousmanou Christophe has however kept faith in his home based boys who qualified the team during the UNIFFAC tournament, with only Saint Etienne’s Bryan Djile and Lokomotiv Zagreb’s Midfielder, Yahaya Abdoulaye, being the only foreign based player in the Starting XI.
