Published

on

Burundi becomes the First African country to resume football leagues amidst COVID-19 outbreak.

Burundi also doubles as the last country in Africa to suspend football activities but with few cases of COVID-19, the government and FA had to set May 21, 2020 as resumption date.

This came to reality as fans turn out today to watch second place Musongati FC vs Athletico Academy (11th place)  which ended 3goals appease.

Three matches had remained before the end of the season and there were possibilities that the league could resume.

14 out of the 16 teams had played 27 matches with only Musongoti and Athlectico Academy  the only side to play 26 games which means the above fixture was a delayed encounter.

The other matches have been programmed for May 30th as follows:

Kayanzi United vs Les Liemes

Ngozi City vs Rukinzo

Inter Star vs Vital ‘ O

Flambeaubu Centre vs Argle Noir

on

The 27 year-old scored twice in Young Boy’s 3-1 win over St Gallen in the last playing day of the Swiss Super League staged on Monday August 4, 2020.

Playing at the Stade de Suisse in front of the president of world football governing body, FIFA, Gianni Infantino, the former SC Angers and Servette FC forward found the back of the net at the 14th and 22nd minutes respectively.

Jean Pierre Nsame’s first goal came after the goal poacher brilliantly outplayed St Gallen’s keeper with a body move following a long pass from central midfielder Gianluca Gaudinho before slotting into an empty net.
His second of the night was a well calculated drive of Janko Saidy’s pass at the edge of the penalty box, beating Ghanaian born goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Two goals that helped the Swiss capital city club clinch a 3-1 win following a 68th minute increase of tally by fellow Cameroonian Moumi Ngamaleu.
