Christiana Mpeh Bissong former attacker for Louves Minproff Yaoundé has signed a two years contract to play with Poland first Division women football team MKS Olimpia Szczecin.
The indomitable Lionesses prolific striker put pen on paper in Poland on Thursday, July 2, 2020, and her contract is said to run till June 2022. Her Manager and Agent, Callistus Fonjong confirms through CNA(Cameroon News Agency).
Christiana Mpeh Bissong is mature in her game. The 20-year-old striker is unbeatable when she is faced with an opponent with her ball to the feet. Fast and confident, place any of the defenders in front, she will take the upper hand.
Louves Minproff has not only lost a versatile, electric and technical player, but also an unmatched goal-getter who gave the club a voice in the local female league.
In the 2018 season, Mpeh Bissong scored 22 goals and was voted top scorer of the season. Then she received a distinction from the CAEM Awards in 2018 and her club Louves made a double, Cup, and Championship. Each year, Mpeh writes its name in a gold letter to the championship, and even in the Cameroon Cup.
Christiana Mpeh Bissong is known for her speed and technique when she is in a stadium, thereby defeating the opposing defense, to agree on the goalkeeper. The international U20 has brought a lot to Louves and pursues its objectives. She scored a hard trick in the last COSAFA competition but was last year left out of the Lionesses squad for the 2019 World Cup a decision many sports pundits had described as unfair.
With her contract to ends in June 2022, Christiana Mpeh Bissong will be enjoying two years of top-flight football with the Poland First Division women team MKS Olimpia Szczecin what is undoubtedly her biggest football career portfolio
Michele Ngono Mani looks at the good side of the cancellation of the AWCON 2020
While the ladies are indignant around the world because of the cancellation of the Women African Cup of Nations 2020, some see in it something good.
Madeleine Michele Ngono Mani, ex forward of the Indomitable Lionesses does not exactly share the point of view of the petition launched by the association of the Former Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon which challenges the decision to cancel the AWCON 2020.
Talking to a Cameroonian based radio, of Magic FM, theall time best goalscorer of the Lionesses of all time (49 goals) see in CAF’s decision an opportunity.
”For the Women’s AWCON 2020, i’m a little disappointed as any sportswoman and sportsman. At the same time, it’s not a big surprise, I think it’s a good decision made by FIFA and others because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now it will allow the different teams to better prepare for the next competitions and to be ready for on the d day ” declared the 36-year-old player who haven’t been recalled in the Lionesses’s den since the end of the Women’s World Cup 2019 in France.
CAF to discuss the creation of the Women’s Champions League in its June 30th Meeting Agenda.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold a meeting on June 30, 2020 to discuss on matters affecting football on the continent, with the creation of the Women’s Champions League as part of the meeting agenda.
The creation of an inter club competition in the women’s category, is welcome by many as it will help to boost competition levels within clubs and players.
This move is inline with the recent released strategy which consisted of five pillars, among which is that of competitions whose implementation involves the introduction of continental club competition for women in order to strengthen the domestic leagues and clubs.
As it stands, female footballers on the continent have only their domestic leagues and cup competitions to play. Some have tasted regional tourneys. The creation of an interclub competition, will provide another avenue to test themselves, become more competitive as they will henceforth face foreign competitors at club level.
As for the African Women’s nations cup, the One African body will deliberate on whether the competition will go ahead as planned or be postponed to a later date due to the abnormalities created by the coronavirus pandemic.
No host have been identified since Congo withdrew.
Women Bundesliga Championship to Begin on May 29
After the Men’s Bundesliga returned to action in Germany last week, the women’s top flight championship has been program to resume on Friday 29 May across the country.
The league will restart on Match day 17 as defending champions Wolfsburg FC will take on FC Koln, while seven-time winners 1. FFC Frankfurt face FC Sand.
There are six match days still to be played, plus a further two rearranged games. Wolfsburg lead the way heading into the end of the campaign on 46 points, eight ahead of their closest pursuers, leaving them well placed to secure a fourth consecutive league title and sixth overall.
Matters are considerably tighten in the race for the Champions League berths, with just a single point separating Bayern and Hoffenheim ahead of their head-to-head encounter on Saturday May 30.
At the opposite end of the table, safety is very much within FC Koln’s reach. Sascha Glass’s side are just two points adrift of a non-relegation spot but still have two delay games.
The women’s league is not the only competition set to resume, as the Women’s DFB Cup will also start. The quarterfinal fixtures have been scheduled for June 2 and 3.
The semi-finals are to take place on June 10 and 11, with the final in Cologne on July 4. As the federal government has decreed that mass events are forbidden until at least August 31, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the final will also be held behind closed doors.
