AFCON 2021: Senegal Into The Quarter Finals As They Beat Nine Men Cape Verde.

The Taranga Lions of Senegal have booked their place in the quarter finals as they roar against nine sharks of Cape Verde.

Senegal continue their hunt for an AFCON title for the first time in their history,  as they beat nine men Cape Verde 2-0 to qualify for the quarter finals of the ongoing AFCON.

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Bamba Dieng second the two goals for the 2019 finalists,  in a victory which saw two players from Cape Verde sent off.

At the 63rd minute,  Sadio Mane put his side in front as he scored only his second of the tournament.

At stoppage time, Bamba Dieng ensured that the Lions of Senegal seal their place at the quarter finals stage of the competition.

The win for Senegal means they have now lost two games out of their last 10games in the AFCON (6wins and 2 draws)

The Taranga Lions will face either Mali or Equatorial Guinea on Sunday at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium.
