‘Toghu’ as it is called, is the new official match ball and this is named after a popular traditional outfit in Cameroon.
Toghu is a multi-coloured and finely embroidered outfit, that was initially designed for royalty in the North West Region of Cameroon, but has been adopted by Cameroonians as an outfit for special occasions especially the Olympics Games.
The ball will be used by the 24 teams during the 52 matches to be played in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
About “Toghu”-the match ball
It is designed to meet the highest standards of the game, the ball features simple technological features including a smart panel configuration and FIFA has approved it to be used at the highest levels of the game.
‘Toghu’ also symbolises Tradition, Glory, Heritage and Unity.
