The Africa cup of nations trophy has touched the offices of the ministry of sports and physical education and the Prime minister’s office today Tuesday December 7, 2021.
As a tradition of most sporting events, the trophy is paraded in different countries before reaching the host nation.
Before arriving Cameroon, the trophy had been in countries like Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Ghana and Malawi.
When the trophy arrived the host nation, it landed at the ministry of sports and physical education received by Prof Narcisis Mouelle Kombi, before landing at the Prime minister’s office.
In order to hit up the AFCON fever, and with some 31 days to go, the trophy will be paraded in all the six host cities of the competition.
Algeria is the defending champions of the competition, and will be hoping defend it when the competition begin on January 9.
14 countries have won this converted trophy since its inception in 1957, but the question is, are we going to have a 15th nation to write her name in the trophy, or are we going to have the same all 14 nations win the crown? January 9 to February 6, 2022 will tell.
