The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to use the Video Assistant Referee through out the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa cup of nations to be held in Cameroon next January.
The decision was taken earlier this week, as the Pan African Football Body sent messages to all 24 participating nations, that the VAR Will be used through out the tournament.
This will be the first time the VAR will be used through out the entire tournament, though it was introduced during the quarter finals of AFCON 2019 and CHAN 2020.
Also, the various participating teams have been given the visa to add five slots in the initial final 23 man squads ahead of the tournament.
The competition will begin on January 9, to February 6, 2022 in Cameroon.
