The South African Football Association (SAFA) have oppose the choice of Morocco to host Liberia’s home AFCON 2023 qualifying matches.
Liberia is one of the Member Associations of CAF whose stadium was rejected to host AFCON 2023 qualifying matches – and this has led to Morocco been chosen to host Liberia’s home matches.
South Africa who is in the same group with Morocco, Liberia and Zimbabwe is opposing the decision saying it will give advantage to the north African nation ahead of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
Morocco had such advantage during the FIFA World cup qualifiers when they played all six qualifying matches at home because group rivals: Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Sudan had their stadiums rejected.
The AFCON qualifiers will kick next month with the scramble for two slots from group K the main target.
