AFCON U23 QUALIFIERS: “Cameroonian players seemed to be more individualistic than collective” – coach Farid Ben Belgasem of Tunisia.

After a 1-0 defeat to cCameroonin the first leg qualifier game of the U23 AFCON, Tunisian coach Farid Ben Belgasem acknowledged he didn’t know much about the Cameroonian side and equally remarked that the U23 indomitable lions seemed more of an individualistic team than a collective group.

“Our Olympic team hasn’t played many games since April 2019. We were dominated in the first half but came back and had a better second half. We didn’t have enough information on the Cameroon side. It’s during the game that we had a view of our opponent. Cameroonian players seems to be more individualistic than collective. The Cameroonian team was weaker physically in the second half. The return game will be complicated for both sides and I wish good luck to everyone.”

Tunisia absolutely needs a win in the reverse fixture in order to qualify for the U23 AFCON. The Carthage eagles will host the lions come Tuesday 10th of September 2019.
