Bangwen Mbadi Frederic leaves New Stars for a new adventure at Unisport of Bafang

24 year old former league one and cup Cameroon winner Bangwen Mbadi Frederic has this afternoon told he will continue to pursuit his football dreams in Bafang from this season.

The skilful Attacking Midfielder who won the league one title with UMS of Loum in 2016,most recently won the cup of Cameroon in 2017 with New Stars of Douala joins Sinisa Jokanovic’ side barely 4 days after his new club punish his former employers New Stars to a 2 nil defeat in New Stars first league game of the season.
Bangwen has agreed a 1 year deal at Unisport plus the option for another year for an undisclosed fee.

Bangwen becomes the 2nd New Stars player to join Unisport of Bafang since the end of last season. In January 2018, cup of Cameroon top scorer for New Stars in the 2017 Jean Marie Happi Noubissi agreed a 2 year deal to join Unisport of Bafang.

The West regional club is currently ranked second in the league’s standings with 7 points from 4 games while New Stars will set out in search of their first win this season on Sunday at the Limbe Centenary stadium when the host hungry Stade Renard of Melong.

Since the cup of 2017 Cameroon win over UMS,the following players have left New Stars, Israel Kologni Kologni (Now with Aigle),Api Eric Enjenwi(Now with Astres), Cedric Djeugoue( Now with UMS),Bangwen Mbadi Frederic and Jean Marie Happi Noubissi(Now with Unisport), Andoulo Serge(Now with Cotonsport) and Coach Laurent George Djam(Now with Stade Renard of Melong)

If Bangwen wins any trophy at Unisport this season then it will be the 3rd season in succession that the one time Cotonite wins a trophy and all with different clubs.If he does it again in Bafang then one will easily be forgiven to call him “the trophy bringer”

In a related development New Stars new signing and vice captain of the intermediate Lions of Cameroon ETTA THOMAS BAWAK made his debut for New Stars yesterday in a virgin score game against Colombe of Dja in Limbe. Bawak joins New Stars after successful years at UMS were he won the cup of Cameroon in 2015, the league one title in 2016 and was voted best defender for the 2017 season as his club finished runners up in the cup of Cameroon.
