The Cameroon football federation, FECAFOOT has confirmed that the 2020_2021 football season in Cameroon will kick-off on Tuesday November 10, 2020.
In an official communique on Friday afternoon, FECAFOOT’s Secretary General, Benjamin Didier Banlock stated;
“It is with pleasure that FECAFOOT informs the public, football actors, and the media that the first day of the Elite one championship is programmed for Tuesday November 10, 2020”.
This information from FECAFOOT comes as a sigh of relief for football lovers in Cameroon, as football will now return after about eight months off the pitch.
FECAFOOT will now take full control of professional football in country, after the withdraw all the competencies that were hitherto given to the LFPC as the organ charged with organizing professional football in the country. FECAFOOT’s executive committee meeting on Wednesday decided to withdraw the competencies of LFPC.
Professional football was last played in the country in March 2020 for the 2019_2020 football season. Later in May 2020, FECAFOOT declared the season closed, crowning PWD Bamenda as champions.
The program for the first day of play of the 2020_2021 season is expected to be made Public in the hours ahead.
