The Cameroon Football Federation suspends the professional football league of Cameroon. This is one of the strong resolutions out of the meeting of the executive bureau of the host instance of Cameroonian football.
Meeting on August 22, 2019 at the headquarters of FECAFOOT under the chairmanship of Mr. SEIDOU MBOMBO Njoya, its president to decide on various points on the Cameroonian football.
At the end of this meeting, several resolutions were adopted including Resolution No. 3 which says:
Pursuant to the combined provisions of Articles 15 and 48 of the FECAFOOT Statutes, to which are added those of Article 81 of the Cameroon Professional Football League Statutes, the Bureau of the Executive Committee decides on the suspension with immediate effect of the Professional Football League of Cameroon for serious and repeated violation of its obligations, as stipulated in Article 14 paragraphs 1a of the Statutes of FECAFOOT, and in Article 2 of its Statutes.
In addition, the Executive Board sets in the second half of October 2019, the start date of competitions for the 2019/2020 sports season. Therefore, the Leagues 1 and 2 leagues originally scheduled by the LFPC to be launched on September 1 are returned around October 15, 2019.
The next meeting of the FECAFOOT Executive Board will be held on September 3rd, 2019 for a single item on the agenda: ‘The Situation Review of the Cameroonian Professional Football League’
The next FECAFOOT executive board meeting will be held on September 3rd, 2019 to discuss the future of the Leagues 1 and 2 championships in Cameroon.
