CAF CCup: Souiabou’s Brace Sends Coton Sports To The Group Stage.

Marou Souiabou scored twice to help Coton Sport of Garoua secure their place at the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 2-0 win over  their Mauritanian counterparts on December 5, at the Douala Reunification Stadium.

The Cotonites qualify for their second successive group stage,  with a 2-0 aggregate win, having recorded a goalless draw in Mauritania.

With a goalless draw in Mauritania,  the Cotonites began the game on a perfect start, as Duo  Daman combined with Tombi, but the latter could not beat goalkeeper Salahddine.

Goalkeeper Salahddine looked  more busier than his counterparts from Coton Sport,  as he ones again prevented 16-year-old Marou from scoring the game’s curtain raiser.

At the 21st minute,  Coton Sport of Garoua got their goal, as Marou Souiabou benefited from a Tombi pass to put the 16 time Cameroon champions in front.

Five minutes later,  defender Faouzi Faidine brought down Tombi in the penalty box, which was judge to be a penalty by the center referee. Then comes Souaibou with the responsibility,  as he makes no mistake to give Coton Sport a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The second half did not really give Coton Sport headaches, though the Mauritanians had some chances to score, but they could not capitalize especially that of Teguedi that was dealt with by Coton Sport keeper,  Gdin Allambatnan.

Both sides had chances but the damage had been done in the second half,  as the Cotonites qualify for their second successive group stage.
