Mamelodi Sundowns extend their unbeaten record in the champions league to six games following a 3-0 win over Al Merrihk.

South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns have Am Merrikh 3-0 in a Match day six clash of the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF champions league at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa.

The 2016 champions had already booked their place in the knockout phase, having recorded four wins and one draw in their last five CAF champions league matches.

The boys of coach Rhulani Mokwena started the game on fine foot as they took the lead at the 15th minute through for Kaiser Chiefs player, George Malukeka.

The South Africans dominated play and held on to their lead at halftime.

The Brazilians then doubled their lead through former Cape Town City player Surprise Ralani following a defensive blunder from All Meerikh at the 66th minute.

Then substitute Kermit Erasmus scored the third goal for Mamelodi Sundowns to ensure their supremecy at the top of group A.

The win for the 2016 champions league winners mean they are now six games unbeaten in the CAF champions league.

They finished top of their group with 16 points, six points above rivals Am Ahly.

Mamelodi Sundowns will know their next opponent when the knockout draw takes place on April 5, 2022.
