Raja Casablanca midfielder,  Abderrahim Achchakir is optimistic his side can defeat Zamalek in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal.

Raja lost the first leg on home soil 1-0 to Zamalek and will need to score two or more goals with no reply to get a direct qualification to the final.

The second leg match which was to take place on Saturday October 24,  was postponed due to the fact that some 16 COVID-19 cases were discovered in the Raja squad.

With a second postponement of the match following the Egyptian authorities request on Thursday night,  CAF decided to set a new date for the second leg semifinal match on Wednesday November 4.

Achchakir, one of the 16 COVID-19 cases talked about his experience after contracting the virus and the second leg match against Zamalek.

“I pray to God that all the Raja players recover and then the issue of the comeback will be resolved in Cairo.  We can do it”, Achchakir told Al-Rajadiya website.

“The team doctor will decide wether or not i’m ready. My condition improved like any of my teammates.

“it was a bitter experience,  what happened to the team after the number of cases wasn’t easy.

“I experienced some  unusual symptoms at the start but I steadily improved.  The experience isn’t easy as some people suggest.

” Contracting corona taught me a huge lesson.  I urge everyone to take necessary precautions as it is a very very strong virus and anyone who caught it can confirm.  It’s a lesson for everyone who’s taking the situation lightly, he concluded.
