Al Ahly forward, Aliou Badji has express his joy and happiness after the Egyptian giants, Al Ahly booked their place at the CAF Champions league final.
The 9 time African champions defeated Wydad Athletic club 3-1 in the second leg semifinals of the Champions League on Friday to book their place in this year’s CAF Champions league final after a 5-1 aggregate win.
Though the Senegalese forward, Badji watch the game from the bench, the 23 year old still feels optimistic about the club’s qualification to the final.
“I think it is a good thing to reach the final because Al Ahly have not been able to achieve this in recent years”, Badji told the Al Ahly’s official website.
“We are all happy, as we are one team, and we very much want the fans to be able to attend the final match to encourage them to win the title.
The player was also happy to have watched the game for 90 minutes on the bench.
“I was very happy to watch the game from the bench despite not playing much lately, and I am happy for the team’s victory, we are all together and we are one team”, he added.
Al Ahly could line up against Zamalek to set up the first Cairo Derby final in the CAF Champions league final.
Zamalek on their part, beat Raja Casablanca 1-0 in their first leg semifinals match and will play the return leg on Sunday November 1, 2020.
