CAF Confed Cup: Denis Lavagne Completes Quadruple Over Former Employers.

JS Kabylie qualifies for Confed cup final after a 5-1 aggregate win over Coton Sport of Garoua.

Former Coton Sport of Garoua coach Denis Lavagne has completed his quadruple over former employers, as JS Kabylie qualifies for the final in over 19 years.

The Garoua base side went into the game with a 1-2 defeat in the first at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium seven days ago.

The Cotonites needed to score 2 or more goals without conceding.  Coach Soulamanou Aboubakar went for the same line up as it was in the first leg. Only Etta Bawack was absent from the first leg, as he was replaced by  Yousuffa.

With the same line up, the same mistakes as it was in the first leg was inevitable.  Defensive blunder from defense man,  Etame led to a well taken strike from Mohamed Zakarial at the 6th minute.

Coton Sport still were not convincing in terms of getting the equalizer. In fact another defensive flaws from Yousuffa who brought down an on rushing attacker of Kabylie,  led to a penalty for the Algerian side, with Bahreddine Souyad who sent goalkeeper Nlend to the wrong direction for 2-0 Kabylie.

Just before half time,  Zakarial completed his brace as it was 3-0 to Kabylie at half-time.

The second half was still indifferent in the opening stages,  but with the coming of Kamilou Daouda, Herve Ngomo and Bailang for Coton Sport,  there was some stability in the Coton Sport team as they held on, without conceding in the second half.

The game ended 3-0 to Kabylie,  as they will play against Raja Casablanca in the final next month in Benin.  Raja beat last year’s runner up,  Pyramids 5-4 on penalties to secure a place at the final.

The defeat for Coton Sport is the fourth defeat to the same opponent in the same competition this season.

This will be the first final for JS Kabylie since 2002, which was the  year they last won the competition.
