CAF Confed Cup Final: Raja Wins 2nd Crown With 10 Men.

Raja Casablanca beat JS Kabylie 2-1 to win the confed cup 2021.

Raja Athletic Club of Morocco have won the 2021 Caf confed cup after defeating Algerian side, JS Kabylie in the final played in Cotonou, Benin.

Though Raja ended the game with 10 men, the job seems likely to have been done with 2 goals in the first 20 minutes.

Top scorer of CHAN 2020,  Soufiane Rahimi got the 2018 champions in front at the 5 th minute. Though the goal looked offside from the assistant referee’s perspective, it was allowed after a VAR check for 1-0 Raja.

Nine minutes later Rahimi this time, became the architect as he provided a plan for South Africa’s Ben Malongo to score the second for Raja Casablanca.

At 2-0, Raja looked more comfortable and superior to a side that had gone 11 games up beaten on their way to the final, as Raja almost scored the third goal before half time.

Coach Denis Lavagne gave some brilliant half time talks to his charges, which paid off few minutes into the second half, with a goal from Boulahia for 2-1.

The momentum of the game changed in favor of JS Kabylie, as they were handed a favor with a red card given to Raja’s Omar Arjoune for a high boot on an opponent. The act first saw yellow, before a VAR check which called for a straight red.

At this point JS Kabylie had a golden spoon to get their eqializer , but Raja proved so tough as they played their normal game, went compact as the minutes die down and finally clinch their second Caf confed cup title in three years.

Raja finished the competition heads high as they are now 11 games unbeaten in the competition.

Rahimi, the top scorer of the CHAN was voted man of the match, while Ben Malango finished top scorer with 5 goals.

Raja Casablanca awaits either Kaiser Chiefs or Al  Ahly of Egypt in next year Caf Super cup.
