A little under four years; 3 years, 235 days since CAF’s supremo Ahmad Ahmad took to the helm of African football, another time for reckoning looms nearest, for the Malagasy to be voted in (another mandate) or out.

Former Lions poacher Samuel Eto’o has backed the incumbent and believes he has to complete the job he started in 2016.

Eto’o in Senegal for business purposes had this to say to RTS1, as regards Ahmad.

“It was a pleasure to collaborate with President Ahmad Ahmad. It should be noted that President Ahmad has brought in numerous changes in the continent’s soccer”, Eto’o emphasised.

“The presence of a man full of exceptional ideals for the amelioration of soccer in the African continent was a necessity and a gift.

Just like all the other Presidents who have come together to support Ahmad, I follow suit to say that we need him to continue to better the beautiful game on the continent,” Africa’s most decorated player finished on the subject.

Replacing Issa Hayatou in 2016, Ahmad made mention of the fact that he needed just one term to completely change African football. The Malagasy has however declared his intentions to run for a second mandate.
