CAF president, Dr Patrice Motsepe has ones again maintain his stands, Cameroon will host the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa cup of nations in January next year.
The South African billionaire made the statement during the 13th Extraordinary General assembly of CAF ongoing in Cairo, Egypt. In his statement, he backs Cameroon efforts to host the competition.
“Cameroon is 95% ready”, Motsepe said during the Extraordinary General assembly.
This is almost the fourth time since his ascension to power in March, that he is making such declarations saying Cameroon will host the AFCON in January.
“The passion I saw in Cameroon about the AFCON, I have never seen it before I am confident that we are going to have a wonderful AFCON Cameroon in January”, he continued.
This declaration has ones more debunk media reports of Cameroon not being able to meet up with the caf deadline of November 30th, with regards to the readiness of the Olembe Sport Complex.
However, work is currently at a fast rate to ensure the stadium is ready for the showpiece.
The Olembe sports complex will host the opening and closing match of the AFCON.
