Colombe of Dja and Lobo trashed host Eding Sports 1-3 at the Fecafoot technical centre stadium in Odza in a late match day 16 game of Cameroon’s Elite one Championship.

The encounter saw the dominance of the boys from the south over a sluggish Eding Sports side that can be sum up in 3 talking points.

1) An Easy 1-3 goal ride from Colombe’s magic triangle

Colombe of Dja and Lobo’s attacking triangle composed of play makers Hapmo Man Ykre Dangmo , Yves Rostands Nguangue Mengue and Maximilien Francis Elimbi combined beautifully to upset Eding’s shaky defense.
At the 13th minute, Colombe will open scores through a powerful header by Hapmo Man Ykre Dangmo with an assist from defender Youssiufa Houzaifi who combined with Maximilien Francis Elimb on the left wing to deliver a beautiful cross.
The boys of coach Gabriel Zabo Toze will double tally at the 23rd minute as the “magic triangle” operated in a set of passes and combinations that will see Yves Rostands Nguangue Mengue scoring the second goal and Hapmo Man Ykre Dangmo being on the assist.
Maximilien Francis Elimb will kill all hopes of come back for Eding as he heads the ball in the back of the net from an unmarked position in the penalty box after a beautiful cross from right wing defender, Serge Wohting Yesi.
Eding will succeed in pulling one goal back from the penalty spot by Bonny Elame during extra time (92nd minute).

2) Eding Sport’s poor defending is becoming legion

The club founded in 2012 by Saint Fabien Mvogo, Champion of Cameroon in 2017 and winner of the cup of Cameroon in 2018 has become a shadow of itself. Against Colombe of Dja and Lobo, Eding Sport’s defense line accumulated mistakes all through the game with goalkeeper Janvier Cyni not at his best, Alain Eyenga very slow as central back, Daniel Brille Nkanembang with some poor passes and Junior Brandon Njoufack hesitant on some ball.
The club is classified as being the worst defense of the league, haven conceded 22 goals in 16 games, the same (number as Yong Sports and Dragon of Yaounde). Meyoupo will come in player during the second half to give more pace and tempo to the midfield but damage was already done.

3) Deplorable game conditions

eding vs colombe players
The game played at 3pm under the hot sun of the artificial pitch at the Fecafoot technical centre stadium wasn’t the best of game conditions. With temperature at 30 °C, humidity at 49% and winds at 13km/h, the actors on the pitch were easily worn out. Colombe’s playing style of using the entire length of the pitch with long balls, precise passes made Eding Sport players to spend most of the time running up and down chasing the ball, an attitude that contributed in draining them out and pave way to discouragement.
The small crowd present was basically constituted of Fans of Colombe with the presence in the stands of Banga Bienvenue, former Colombe player who now sells his trade for Coton Sport of Garoua.
