Cameroon Women Elite Championship: Canon Ladies override Vision FC

Canon Ladies of Yaounde beat Vision FC of Bamenda 5-2 in the launching game of Cameroon’s Women Elite championship 2019/2020 season.

In a game with two opposing styles, Canon ladies were well-organised and constructing up front through the wings while Vision FC of Bamenda remained in a typical kick and rush football.

Raissa Nnanga Ebolo will score the first goal of the season at the 7th minute in a solo mode, beating 2 defenders and the goalkeeper in her race.
Canon will make it 2-0 with a penalty converted by Berthe Reitte Abega at the 13th minute. Raissa Nnanga Ebolo of Canon gets a brace at the 21st minute. (3-0)
The Vision girls from Bamenda will press on and obtain a penalty well converted by Akwe Cleris Ngeh scores (3-1). She will give hope to the Abakwa ladies at the 43rd, scoring a brace(3-2)
In the second half, In-substitute Raygeen Parole Abena will widen the gap for Canon scoring from her first touch of the ball at 47th minute after Vision’s FC defender Melaine Vanilor Leuko lost the ball in her half. (4-2)
Vision FC will not relent efforts and create another rare chance at the 65th minute but Shalom Makoma Ngam will miss a one on one action with goalkeeper Elsa Christelle of Canon.
Jacqueline Carole Nsi will conclude the day’s scoreline with the 5th goal for Canon at the 77th minute.

Cameroon: Women Footballers to receive Salaries for the upcoming Championship.

The players of the Cameroon women division one championship will be receiving salaries as from this upcoming Women’s top flight championship. 

This great innovation comes after the president of the Cameroon Football Federation,  Seidou Mbombo Njoya met with some stakeholders of Women’s football in Cameroon on Thursday October 1, 2020.

One of the innovations of the meeting was the confirmation of Guinness Cameroon as the main sponsor of the women’s top flight championship.

Guinness Cameroon,  according to the stakeholders of Women’s football,  the aforementioned sponsor will take charge of the payments of salaries of female footballers in the women’s top flight championship for upcoming season.

This initiative comes at a time when the world football governing body (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are making strives to ensure the worldwide growth of Women’s football.

Morocco, one of the African countries to follow the path of FIFA and CAF have set a salary pay for their women’s top flight at 350 Euros.

Though the exact salary amount of the players of the Cameroon top flight is not yet confirmed,  many see the initiative as a welcoming development,  judging from the fact that it’s an effort to encourage women’s football in the country.

The new women’s football championship will begin on October 17 for the Division one championship and October 30 for the Division two championship.

The president of the Cameroon Football Federation, Prince Seidou Mbombo Njoya met with stakeholders of Women’s football in Cameroon on October 1, 2020. 

The meeting provided an avenue for both parties to discuss the way forward for the future of Women’s football in Cameroon.

At the end of the working session,  the fecafoot boss outlined some top innovations with regards to the start of the new women’s football championship.

Top Five innovations for the upcoming Cameroon Women’s Championship

Guinness Cameroon will be the main sponsor of the Cameroon Women’s top flight championship and will take charge of the salaries of female players of the top flight championship. 

-For a start, the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) will broadcast matches of the female top flight championship. 

-Second Division clubs Wil also benefit from the financial support. 

-There will be the creation of awards at the end of the seasons to encourage the different actors and give some bonuses at the end of matches. 

-The Division one and two championship will be played in the interval of Approximately two weeks. 

It should be noted that, this initiative is coming at a time when football world governing body  (FIFA )and the Continental of African Football (CAF) are making strives to see that women’s football grow in the globe.
