14 times MTN Elite One champions Cotonsport of Garoua this afternoon announced the signing of Togolese International goalkeeping BASSA DJERI SABIROU from Togelese division one club, GBINKINTI DE BASSA to challenge intermediate Lion’s goal Omossola Medjo Simon for a place between the sticks.
The 30 years old SABIROU will be making his first stop in the Cameroon premier league.Born on the 17 of June 1987,the great pair of hands made his debut for the Togolese national selection this year(11 June 2017) in an AFCON 2019 qualifiers game against Algeria away at the Mustapha Tchaker stadium at Bilda. A game which saw him make a good number of saves against Liecester duo Islam Slimani and current African footballer of the year Ryad Mahreez.
It is often said that “goalkeepers are like wines the older the better”.Probably why despite what sounds like a veteran footballing age (30),cotonsport have given him a two year contract with financial aspects not communicated.
In a related development today at the Ngalbidge sports complex in Garoua,Cotonsport announced the signing of teenager(19 year old) MARIUS Mouadimadji from Gazelle of Ndjamena on a 2 year deal.
MARIUS is highly rated striker back in his native land (Tchad) and joins the cotonites to involve in healthy competition with all time top scorer Kamilou Daouda aged 29.Kamilou made his debut for Cotonsport in 2007 at MARIUS’ current age and have won numerous titles since then with cotonsport.
Minkro and his foot soldiers will be looking forward to the New season with a bigger desire to win after 2 busy but barren season for the club.
