The Nigerian star and coach Emmanuel Amonike arrived Cairo in the early hours of today to pen a contract with Egyptian side Misr El Makassa, as announced by the club’s president yesterday.
The former Nigerian international succeeds Mido, former Egyptian international, fired.
Emmanuel Amunike is not on his first coaching job. The gaffer trained Nigeria’s U17 team and achieved a third place in the U17 World Cup. He later took charge of the Tanzanian Taifa Stars , leading them to the last AFCON in Egypt.
Makassa are relaying on Mr. Amuniki’s training experience and skills to lift the team from its unenviable position (15th out of 18th) at the end of round One.
Will Amunike succeed? The question is on every lips; Egypt and Zamalek has been the gateway to his rich career in the 90s and he’s just returning to well known environment.
