Quarter final matches of the ongoing Cup of Cameroon were played over the weekend, as Union; Astre and Coton Sports of Garoua have all qualified for the semi finals of the competition.
Union 2- 0 AS Dibamba(Reunification stadium annex)
Going into the game, the elite one side was favorite in the clash. Though AS Dibamba put on a good fight, but the six time Cameroon champions were a better side. Goals from Ismael Seidou and Philip Marie Belibi was enough to see the 2012 elite one champions seal through to the semis.
Option Sports 0-1 Astre of Douala (Reunification Stadium Annex)
The hope of the South west region finally ended with the elimination of Option Sports Academy of Limbe by three time runners up, Astre of Douala. Though Astre goalkeeper Mbainasem was given a red card, the narrative was still not in favour of Options Sports Academy. A Simplice Mbang assist saw Beo Batto to score the loan goal of the game to end the hopes of the south west region.
Coton Sports 2-1 Racing of Bafoussam
After been eliminated from the CAF Confederation cup, Coton Sport of Garoua returned to winning ways as they eliminated Racing of Bafoussam 2-1 at the municipal stadium in Bertoua. Goals from Pierre Bailang and top scorer Lambert Ariana, while Nga Ayissi scored for Racing of Bafoussam.
Coton Sports will now wrestle with Astre of Douala in a mouth watering semi final game.
