CHAN Preparations: Arroga calls 27 lions for the October camping.

Head coach of the Cameroon’s intermediate Lions, Clement Arroga, have made a list of 27 lions to be part of the October camping,  in preparation of the upcoming African Nations Championship, to be hosted by Cameroon in January next year. 

The list sees an increase in the number of players called in the previous camping increase by three new players different from the previous list.

No changes was done at the level of the goalkeeping sector,  as Anye Derrick of Coton Sport,  Dande Junior of Apjes and Epane Letizie of Stade  Renard maintained their places.

For the defense sector, Embo II David of Eding was dropped to the waiting list this time around to give way for Nguede Nguede of Canon sportif  of Yaounde and Houzaifa Yousoufa of Coton sport who were not part of the previous list.

At the midfield department,  some players who were part of the previous camping were dropped such as Abanda Nkoa of Canon sportif of Yaounde was dropped to give way for Colombe’s player of the season Man Ykre Daugmo and PWD’ s Ndeh Collins.

At the attacking sector, players like Jules Arnand kooh of Stade Renard, and Nsonga Brian of Apjes were dropped.

63 year-old Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Cameroon intermediate lions.

This comes after Clement Arroga was sacked following a meeting between the minister of sports and the Cameroon Football Federation on Wednesday October 21, 2020 in Yaounde,  Cameroon.

Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, is no new name to Cameroon Football as he has managed different categories of Cameroon Football teams.

4 fact you may not know about Ndtoungou Mpile. 

This is the second time he is taken a team to CHAN few months to the competition. He did that in 2016 and now in 2020, he’s doing same.

He has never won any trophy with all the categories of national teams including the intermediate lions under his care.

In 2008, he was coach of the Olympic lions during the Olympic games in Beijing, China. 

In 2011, he was the coach of the Cameroon U-20 lions.

Coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpile,  will be assisted by PWD social club of Bamenda coach, David Pagou and Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso.

Official: Martin Ndtongou Mpile appointed intermediate lions head coach

62_year_old Cameroonian tactician Martin Ndtongou Mpile, has been appointed lead trainer of the intermediate lions of Cameroon, replacing Yves Clement Arroga Atsentso, who has been relieved of his duties.

Arroga has been shown the door and put “at the disposal of the Cameroon football federation”, as mentioned in an official communique from Cameroon’s sports minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.

The same communique states that following a joint MINSEP_FECAFOOT meeting of Wednesday October 21, to evaluate the preparations of the Intermediate lions ahead of the African Nations championship, that will kick-off in Cameroon on January 16, 2020, they decided to appoint Martin Ndtongou Mpile as head coach.

“It was decided to give the responsibility of the intermediate lions to Ndtongou Mpile Martin, as head coach. Mr David Pagou was designated as his deputy, and the rest of the technical staff remains unchanged”, states the communique from MINSEP.

Martin Ndtongou Mpile is not a new name in Cameroon football. He was the coach of the Cameroonian Olympic team in the Beijing Olympics. Shortly before the 2016 African Nations championship, Martin Ndtoungou Mpile was appointed to lead the intermediate lions and has now comeback in similar fashion.

Talking about his deputy, David Pagou, he is currently lead trainer of Cameroon league one champions, PWD of Bamenda. He has coach a host of Cameroon’s topflight sides like Canon, Cosmos, Renaissance and Eding Sport.

Intermediate lions: Yves Clement Arroga shown the door

The head coach of the intermediate lions of Cameroon, Yves Clement Arroga, has been sacked from his function.

According to reports, officials of Cameroon’s ministry of Sports and the country’s FA, met on Wednesday in Yaoundé, and decided to show Yves Clement Arroga the door, following a series of poor outings from the intermediate lions.

Yves Clement Arroga Atsentso officially took up duty as head coach of the intermediate lions of Cameroon on October 11, 2019, and his sacking comes exactly one year and 10 days in charge.

The intermediate lions have been actively preparing for the upcoming African Nations championship to be hosted by Cameroon in January 2021. Arroga’s sacking comes just hours after he named a 28 man squad, to take part in their next training camp as from Sunday October 25.

No official statement has been made by the Cameroon football federation.
