The political capital of Cameroon, Yaoundé, will play host to a Pre_CHAN mini_tournament, as from January 01, 2021.
The tournament will bring together four countries, Cameroon, Niger, Zambia and Uganda. These four countries have all qualified for the African Nations championship, which is scheduled to kick-off in Cameroon as from January 16.
The Mini_tournament is organised by the Cameroon football federation, so as to permit Cameroon’s Indomitable lions be in good shape before the kick-off of the competition.
“The PRE-CHAN, mini-tournament, will be played in Yaoundé from January 1 to 7, 2021 with four teams qualified for CHAN: Cameroon, Niger, Zambia and Uganda. This mini-tournament is organized by FECAFOOT to finish putting Lions A ’in optimal conditions before the start of CHAN which the country is hosting from January 16 to February 7”, FECAFOOT wrote on their official Twitter handle.
Cameroon is in group of the upcoming African Nations championship, alongside Mali, Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe, while Niger is pitted in group DR Congo, Congo and Libya.
Uganda on their part, are in group C alongside defending Champions, Morocca, Togo and Rwanda, while Zambia is seeded in group D alongside Guinea, Namibia and Tanzania.
The participants in the Pre_CHAN Mini Tournament, are expected in Cameroon on December 29, 2020, three days before kick-off. Matches for the seven day tournament, will be played at the Annex of the Omnisport Stadium, and the Stade de Impôts in yaounde.
Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and his intermediate lions, will kick start the mini tournament on new year’s day, with a game against Uganda, at 6pm, at the Omnisport Annex stadium.
