Relegation threatened Serie A side Genoa, currently ranked 17th, have registered two new – top acquisitions on loan; Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman, and Cameroon International Jerome Onguéné.
According to information from RMC Sport, Onguene, former Sochaux player, could stay permanently at Genoa as they have agreed with RB Salzburg on a loan move with an option to buy the defender, for over 4.5 million euros.
The defender traveled safely from Austria to Italy and has equally undergone a successful medical.
Jerome Onguene had his first training session with his Genoa teammates on Friday January 15, as seen on the clubs’ social media handles.
Onguene played an impressive 694 minutes in all competitions so far this 2020/2021 season for Salzburg and scored once in 15 appearances for the club.
