Coted’Ivoire and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has given his support to Liverpool stars, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to break his record as the all time African goalscorer in the premier league.
Mane and Salah have been the most consistent African stars recently in the premier league. It took Salah 75 minutes against Norwich city on opening to score his 98th premier league goal, making him the second highest African goalscorer in the premier with six goals behind the king Drogba.
The goal for Salah against Norwich means he becomes only the first player to score in the opening day of five consecutive premier league seasons.
While on the other hand, Senegalese sensation, Sadio Mane scored Liverpool’s second against Burnley to sit on the fourth position, behind former Arsenal striker, Emmanuel Adebayor.
With their consistency, both Mane and Salah have high chances to break the record set by Drogba in the premier league.
Drogba however, gives them his support to go ahead and break the record, as he believes records are meant to be broken.
“Come on my brothers, records are meant to be broken, so get in there.” Drogba posted in his instagram page.
Drogba played 254 premier league games for Chelsea, scoring 104 goals plus 55 assists for the blues of Chelsea.
