The newly constructed sports edifice, Japoma Sports Complex will host two matches counting for day 5 of the ongoing elite one football championship.
The first game at the Japoma Stadium will see New Stars of Douala, take on Tonnerre of Yaounde. Both teams will be hunting for their second win of the new campaign, as they clash at the Sport edifice. New Stars have recorded one win and one defeat so far in two matches, while Tonnerre have one win, one draw and one defeat in three matches.
The second game at the Japoma Stadium will see Les Astres take on Colombe of Dja and Lobo at 4pm. Les Astre have recorded just one point in four matches, and that was 0-0 draw in match day 3 against Apejes of Mfou (3defeat and 1draw), while Colombe have just two points recorded, and their only defeat of the season was a 0-1 defeat to Colombe. It should be noted that, this is first time this stadium is hosting elite one football.
Elsewhere, AS Fortuna of Mfou will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five matches this season, when Dragon of Yaounde comes knocking. AS Fortuna have so far been a transformed side since Guy Bertin left the club earlier this season. They have recorded 3wins and one draw and that was against PWD on match day two. Dragon on their part, will be looking for their first win of the campaign after just one point in two matches. Their match day four clash against PWD was postponed.
In Bamenda, champions PWD of Bamenda will host high flying Bamboutos of Mbouda at the YOSA Arena. The champions will be involved in their first game since tragic incident, which led to the burning of their team bus. However the Abakwa boys have played two matches recording four points in the process. Bamboutos on their part, have lost just one game this season and that was a 0-3 defeat to Stade Renard of Melong on Match day three. They are second in pool A with 9 points.
In Yaounde, Canon Sportif of Yaounde will be in search of their third successive home win of the campaign against Panthere at the CAF Excellent Center in Mbankomo. Canon have so far recorded two wins out of three matches, with 6 points to their credit, while Panthere have lost just one game, which was a 0-1 defeat to Tonnerre (3wins and one defeat).
