Elite one: preview, union vs ums, littoral calling.

It’s littoral calling as the middle farms stadium will play host the clash between Union of Douala and UMS in an all littoral Derby on Sunday December 1, 2019 @3pm.

Union has scored 15goals against UMS as opposed to UMS 7goals during this period.

But it shocking to know that UMS of Loum have dominated desputes against Union in their last five meetings as they have won 7points in their last five against Union while the latter has just four points during this period against the former.

*Players to watch.

Union’s Samuel Nlend who is the club’s top scorer so far with 5goals will be instrumental in seeing his team grap all three points. Team mate Serge Andoulo and Innocent Assana are also key to watch on Sunday.

Emmanuel Chamdjou will be key for UMS as he has netted a couple of goals this season as he scored the first goal under new coach Nke Dieudonne against PWD. Canille Noah Ombolo the brilliant goalkeeper has been instrumental this season under new coach keeping five clean sheets in their last six games.

PWD to play two regional derbies this week

Cameroon league one Champions, PWD social football club of Bamenda, will face Foncha street FC and Yong Sports Academy, in separate friendly games this week.

The Abakwa Boys resumed training in Bamenda last Friday, after spending more than a out of base.

PWD will lock horns with league two side, Foncha street FC on Thursday October 29, in Bamenda as from 3pm, before confronting fellow league one side YOSA, on Sunday November 01, 2020.

FONCHA Street FC has been active in preseason

All three teams are actively preparing for the 2020_2021 football season, during which PWD will be active in three fronts, the elite one Championship, the Cameroon cup and the CAF champions league.

So far, the Abakwa Boys have played 11 friendly games, winning winning five, three draws, and have suffered three defeats. The team has also scored 23 goals, and conceded 12 goals in that process.

Some of their high profile friendlies this far, have come against Futuro Kings in Malabo, South Sudan in yaounde, Apejes, Fortuna, Renaissance, Fauve Azur and Tonnerre Kalara Club in the Tournoir de Solidarité, where the team emerged third.

Coach David Pagou, recently appointed deputy coach of the intermediate lions, Nchindo John Bosco and Basile Yamkam, called up into the same squad, will be unavailable for the double regional derbies.

Tournoi de Solidarité: Fortuna vs Fauve Azur fail to produce winner in the finale

AS Fortuna and Fauve Azur, have played a draw in the final of the Tournoi de Solidarité played this Sunday in Mbankomo. Tight 2#2 after 90 minutes, both sides again produced a scintillating 13#13 in the penalty shootout, till night fall.

Goalkeeper moïse pouaty made a great save just three minutes on, to prevent Fauve Azur from taking the lead.

The two sides struggled to get a veritable goal scoring opportunity in the first quarter of the game. Fortuna resorted to counter attacks and Ako Loïc at the 17th minute of the game produced Fortuna’s first short on target, which was well saved by Goalkeeper Nkari Daniel of Fauve Azur.

With a heavy downpour that started shortly after kick-off, the pitch became practically unplayable, forcing central referee, Ngwa Blaise to halt the game after 36 minutes.

When play eventually resumed, Fortuna took the lead at the 39 minute, through Beken Franck. A score which they protected till the break.

Fortuna continued to press hard in the second half, as coach Oumarou Sokba of Fauve Azur brought in Onana Victor, to replace Kunde Junior.

On the side of Fortuna, Onana Rodrigue ceded his place to Bessong Junior.

Fortuna’s starting XI vs Fauve Azur

Fauve Azur multiplied several attacking moves, and drew the equalizer at the 73rd minute, when Fortuna’s center back, Penda Gabriel deflected Ibrahim Faidou’s shot into his own net.

Goalkeeper moïse pouaty of Fortuna pulled an incredible double save at the 75th minute, to stop Fauve Azur from going in front.

At the 78th minute, Fortuna’s Bessong Junior capitalized on a defensive lapse from Fauve Azur, to put Fortuna ahead.

All hopes seemed lost for Fauve Azur, untill substitute, Victor Onana produced a moment of magic at the 82nd minute, with an acrobatic drive that got Goalkeeper Moïse pouaty rooted.

With the game tight at 2#2 after 90 minutes, both sides proceeded to penalty shootout. Moïse pouaty saved one penalty for Fortuna but rattled the cross bar with his kick. The penalty shootout failed to produce any winner, as both teams were tight 13#13, forcing referee Ngwa Blaise, to end the game.

The final will be replayed in 72 hours (Wednesday October 28, 2020)

The preseason tournament that was organized to prepare some elite teams for the upcoming football season, has been going on for over a month, at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo.

Tournoi de Solidarité: Oyili FC wins U17 finale

Oyili FC of yaounde has beaten Ancinfoot 5#0, to win the final of the Tournoi de Solidarité in the U17 category. The final was played this Sunday at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo.

Adan Mveng put Oyili in front a the seventh minute of play, when his fine left footed strike got Goalkeeper Sidoine Koularaba beaten.

Two minutes three minutes later, Essomba Antoine Loïc made it two nil, finishing an excellent individual move down the right flang from Ngono Effa Stevy.

After conceding two early goals, coach Serge Ateba of Ancinfoot, effected two substitutions at the 20th minute, injecting fresh blood.

Oyili’s full back, James Ndjeungoue was the first player to enter the referee’s books, following a nasty challenge on Ancinfoot’s Etoundi Ondoa Pierre.

Ancinfoot improved much in the last quarter of the first segment, but needed a fine save from Goalkeeper Sidoine Koularaba to prevent further casualty from an ambitious Oyili.

Ancinfoot’s starting XI

Just two minutes into second segment, Essomba Antoine Loïc  fired Oyili FC three goals up, ending all hopes of a comeback from Ancinfoot.

Nguh Daniel Junior  put the game beyond Ancinfoot’s reach, with a fine finish 26 minutes into the second half.

A late penalty from Ondo Jean completed the assault for Oyili FC, as they won 5#0.

The young Oyili FC side maintained the score till the end, thereby claiming the trophy of the first edition of the Tournoi de la solidarité, in the U17 category.
