Etienne Eto’o Receives First Cameroon Under-20 Callup

18 year old Etienne Eto’o Pineda, son to Cameroonian football hall of famer Samuel Eto’o has been handed his first Cameroon Under-20 Callup under coach Ousmanou Christophe.

The center – forward is one of eight players practicing out of country, to be called to camp in view of the Under-20 AFCON to take place next month in Mauritania.

Etienne Eto’o was well on course to following his father’s traces at the Under-17 World Cup last summer but Etienne’s international career got off to a false start when he was dropped from the Cameroon squad set to take part at the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Brazil.

The 18year-old Real Oviedo teenage sensation was victim of a presidential decree which reserves Cameroon Under-15 and Under-17 national team places exclusively to home-based players.

This time around, there’s nothing on the kid’s way.

Cameroon qualified for the Under-20 AFCON after lifting the UNIFFAC trophy.

The Under-20 Lions have had two games recently; one won against YAFOOT ; 2-1, and a draw against Apejes – 1-1.
