Former Cameroon international goal accountant, Samuel Eto’o is set to return to professional football.
This comes after Spanish Tercera Division (third tier) side, Racing de Murcia is making strives to convince the former African player of the year to come out of retirement.
Morris Pagniello, the club president says the deal to sign the former Chelsea man is 50-50.
“At this time of the morning, I would say that the signing of Samuel Eto’o by our team is at 50-50”, Pagniello is quoted on Marca.
“Next week we will know if we can sign Eto’o. If not, we have a plan B prepared.
However the club president still thinks he has the necessary arguments to convince the four time African player of the year to come out of retirement.
“We have several investors in Mexico and the Emirates who can financially compensate the operation.
“If we sign him, it is the manager’s job to align him”, he added.
Samuel Eto’o called it quit to professional football last year September 7, 2020 while playing for Qatar Sport Club.
In a remarkable 22 years career, Samuel Eto’o won three uefa champions league crowns with Barcelona and Inter Milan.
He also won the African player of the four times, two AFCON titles, one Olympics gold medal plus one club World Cup.
Eto’o also became the highest paid player when he signed a juicy contract with Russian club, Anzhi Mahkachkala in the summer of 2011.
Eto’o also played for Chelsea, Everton, Sampdoria, Antalyasport, Konyasport and Qatar Sport Club.

UEFA Champions League: Choupo-Muting’s goal helps PSG qualify for the semifinals for the second time the club’s history.
Cameroon International Eric Chopou-Muting scores the winner as Paris Saint Germain beat Atlanta 2-1 to book their place in their second champions league semifinals in the club’s history.
With a bright start for the French champions, their finishing was underwhelming especially from star man Neymar as he missed key chances to seal victory for the Parisians.
Series of near misses and misses from the part of PSG, Atlanta had to make use of their limited chances as Mario Pasalic opened scores at the 27th minute for 1-0 Atlanta.
At this point, Neymar Jr became the bright spot in the first half but his finishing was underwhelming, as Atlanta maintain their lead at half-time.
Going into the second half, Atlanta showed no signs of giving up yet as they held on to their lead in a bulk of the second half but with the coming in of Kylian Mbappe and Eric Choupo-Muting, the dynamics of the game changed as the Parisians scored to quick goals in three minutes.
Choupo-Muting’s cross from the right flank at the 90th minutes found Neymar who had to fine Marquinho who equalized for PSG.
Three minutes later the hero of the night Choupo-Muting had to be at the right place and at the right time to make use of a Kylian Mbapper assist to score PSG’s second of the night as it all ended in a dramatic champions league night for 2-1 Paris Saint-Germain.
It should be noted that Paris Saint-Germain will play either Athletico Madrid or Leipzig in their semifinal match which comes up in a week time.

The TV Right Holders of the Ghana Premier league are mounting preasure on the Ghana FA to Resume the 2019/2020 football season amid COVID-19 outbreak.
Football in Ghana have halted since March due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
According to ghanasoccernet.com, the shutdown of football due to the covid-19 pandemic, has led to financial problems for the Asian broadcaster and are pushing for the resumption of the season.
The Chinese base media firm have witness a significant drop in ad sales revenue for the rest of the season as brands pull campaign and slash marketing budget amid COVID-19.
Already, the Ghana premier league clubs have received a paltry $ 30000 as partial payment from StarTimes since acquiring The TV rights for the 2019/20 season.
StartTimes have been directly affected by the coronavirus and this has caused the pay-per-view channel to put pressure on the FA to continue the league so that they can recover their lost revenue.
It should be noted that, majority of the clubs, especially those in the bottom Half, want the season to be cancelled.
