Cameroon got second win in group phase in the ongoing FIBA women Afrobasket taking place at the Multi-Purpose sports complex in Yaoundè with a 40-71 demolition of Cape Verde in Group A action on Monday in Yaoundè.

Turning Point

Difficult Third Quarter For Cameroon

Team Cameroon made several missed on free throws and were not clinical on their two and three points attempts but still won it with a slim three points 13-16 due to a good performance at the defense

Fourth Quarter Bottom Line

Cape Verde play sloppy basketball, don’t hand the ball safely, and turn it over far too many times at a competition of this magnitude, and they pay a heavy price as Cameroon defense tactic did not permit them to go beyond 2 points

While the lionesses remained composed throughout the game, Cape Verde couldn’t help their cause turning the ball over a staggering 23 times. And to make matters worse, they struggled to score from beyond the arc, making only one of their 12 two-point attempts. Cameroon made as many as 23 points in the final quarter
