Indomitable lion’s new gaffer, Rigobert Song has published a list of 38 players to face Algeria in the playoffs of the FIFA Quatar 2022 World cup qualifiers.
The list of 38 means competition in the various position has been revived, owing to the fact that the new technical staff will be looking for it’s key elements and won’t have the same vision as the former.
35 players out of 38 we’re actively used by former coach Antonio Conseiçao.
1. The comebacks
These are players who were at once part of the squad but weren’t finally selected for the AFCON or were’nt called any more after some time. The objective of the new staff might be to give them one last chance and have their own opinion on the true qualities of these players
- Jeandeau Fouch
- John Mary
- Kevin Sony (playmaker of the U23 team with Rigobert Song and preselected under Antonio Conseiçao)
- Leandre Tawamba (Played the last xorld cup qualifiers against Côte d’ivoire in Douala but didn’t impress the staff
- Duplex Tchamba (Was average in Cameroon’s defeat against Côte d’ivoire in Abidjan and later on dropped)
- Fabrice Ondoua (The hero of 2017 AFCON. Hasn’t played any official game since 2010 and owes his comeback due to popular pressure Might have a role to put some pressure on the regular goalkeeper Andre Onana whom many sports pundits describe as being lukewarm in the goalpost)
2. The newcomers

They are two. Ntcham Olivier who wall called up with Manchester city as a youth but didn’t live up to expectation and after sailing through Glasglow Rangers in Scotland is not in the English second tier league Swansea. He has equally played for the youth teams of the French national team.
Gael Ondoua of Hannover 96 in the German second tier Bundesliga championship is a Russian Cameroonian who moved to Russia at the age of 9. One of his best achievement was to be Eto’o translator as they both played for FC Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia where Ondoa figured in the junior squad.
