PWD vs Kaizer Chiefs: ‘I Am Calm,’ President Pascal Abunde

Published

on

Giovanni Wanneh,

Sports Writer Mysoccer24.com-Cameroon

Emblematic PWD President, Pascal Abunde, has announced he is calm – ahead of the epic, nerve – wracking showdown against South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.

The latter was talking to the press after viewing his team’s training session on Friday 27.

Mr. Pascal’s statement almost defies the logic of being calm, doesn’t it?.

There are several reasons for everyone associated to the club, to have goosebumps. First, it is PWD’s first continental assignment for over 16 years. In addition, the Abakwa Boys come up against arguably the biggest South African club. All these, with Cameroon’s premier division yet to Kickstart.

‘It will be a big day for us,’ Abunde reiterates before going on – ‘we think that we are pretty much relaxed, because we have this growing feeling of confidence and again, we just want Sunday to come. We want to have fun. We want to get the pressure away and just concentrate on the game.

‘With the lack of the championship it’s a little bit complicated to really rate our level of preparedness. We’ve played over 16 games with a great average in terms of games won. We can equally boast of the fact that we’ve had the best of preparations we can ask for.’

PWD has played 3 games out of country, a wonderful achievement even the great Cotonsport would have been proud of.

‘We think we have a far more better team than what we had when we won the championship. The chunk of the work will be with the players’ psychology.

A cross section of these players have just had more international experience with the recent travels. Just about three or four players had experiences abroad before those trips.’

At the tail end of his exchange – a calm, cool and collected president; at least by his gesture, asked for composure.

‘We hope the outcome will be positive. We understand that the opponents are more exposed with silverware and CAF Champions League participations. We are underdogs but we know how to address such adversities. I am calm, hope the fans can be relaxed as well, before the game on Sunday,’ Abunde ended.

PWD vs Kaizer Chiefs: Stadium Director Assaults PWD Officials

Published

on

Preparing to represent the country in the CAF Champions League preliminaries come November 29, PWD officials were assaulted by the stadium director of the Limbe Omnisports Stadium this Friday.

Yes, you read it right, they all were given a shock of their lives.

As a remainder, PWD pits Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, November 29.

Our colleague of mysoccer24.com, Giovanni Wanneh, was the first to raise an alert with a message reading;

‘The stadium director of the Limbe Omnisports stadium is at this point harassing PWD of Bamenda.

The lady who goes by the name madam Pascaline openly abused the president and club officials, threatening to send them away during their training session.

This lady clearly doesn’t know football. She says using the turf will make it bad before Match day.

Please madam, what does home advantage mean to you?.

PWD are Cameroon representatives but this is an absolute shame. Somebody caution this lady,’ Giovanni ended.

From further inquiries, Madam Pascaline had gone beyond day-to-day ‘petit spats’.

She addressed the team’s public relations officer – Mr. Chesi, as ‘a stupid Bamenda,’ an insult that appears delicate these days.

It should be noted that Cameroon’s FA had given PWD a formal ‘okay,’ before their workouts.

After the episode, Pascaline rushed back for peace, but the deed had been done.

In her defense in a popular platform, madam Pascaline said she wanted to protect the nature of the pitch. A pitch that has hardly seen football for over a year now.
