AFCON 2019 golden boot winner Idion Ighalo is considering a return to International Football after close to one year since he announced his retirement from international football with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 30 year-old retired last year from the Super Eagles after emerging as top scorer of the AFCON 2019 in Egypt.
The former Watford man revealed that the reason why he retired from the national team was due to long distance between China and Nigeria.
“I left the national team because of distance between China and Nigeria, but now I am in Manchester, you can tell”, said Ighalo.
Ever since the 30 year-old retired from the national team, he claimed he has never stop thinking about the team.
He also added that, coach Rohr and the NFF boss Pinnich have been in contact with him since his retirement from international football.
The Man United forward helped the Super Eagles to third place at the 2019 AFCON last year, winning the golden boot in the process.
Ighalo made his debut for the super eagles in 2015, scoring 16 goals in 35 appearances for the green, white, green.
