England captain Harry Kane said that England ‘need to be confident’ they can win the World Cup in Qatar, as they enter tournament as one of the favourites. Gareth Southgate’s side have seen success at their last two tournaments having reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and the final of Euro 2020, but England experienced a drop in form after failing to win any of their four Nations League matches in June.
