Philadelphia Union ‘checked one box’ with MLS Cup Playoffs qualification

Despite becoming the first Eastern Conference team to seal their MLS Cup Playoffs spot, the Philadelphia Union know the hard work has only just begun.

The Union booked their place in the post-season with a resounding 4-1 win over Atlanta United on Wednesday, joining LAFC as the only teams throughout MLS to reach the Playoffs so far.

Wednesday was a continuation of the Union’s excellent recent form, winning four of their last five games by scoring at least four goals (6-0 vs DC United and Colorado Rapids, 4-1 vs Chicago Fire and Atlanta United).
