Alphonso Davies hands Canada World Cup injury scare

Canada will be sweating over the fitness of Alphonso Davies after he limped off during the second half of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga clash with Hertha BSC.

The 22-year-old was substituted just over an hour into the clash at the Olympiastadion, and left the pitch clutching his hamstring.

A serious injury would likely rule Davies out for several weeks at the very least, but with the World Cup taking place in the middle of the season this year, even a minor injury could be enough to scupper his chances of appearing in the tournament.
