Indomitable lions of Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has left the lions den in Qatar and has been spotted at the Doha international airport about to board a flight back home. The shot stopper was excluded from the team prior to their game against Serbia yesterday at the Al Janoub stadium. Information we got from the camp was that Onana voiced out his opinion about the tactics used by the head coach that he prefers the coach to start games with Choupo Moting and Vincent Aboubakar at the same time and Nicolas Nkoulou should be replaced in the back line. That did not go well with the coach which became a verbal disagreement . The spokesman of the FA president left the hall and informed Samuel Etoo who didn’t appreciate the gesture and then told onana to leave. Cameroon later played the game against Serbia which ended 3-3 with Vincent Aboubakar coming in at the second half with a superb performance that gave a goal and an assist for Cameroon to equalize from 3-1 down. Onana’s opinion came out to be true meaning all what he said was right. The head coach Rigobert Song later made it clear in the post match press conference that onana decided that he is leaving. with conflicting reports to that of fecafoot that Onana has been suspended for disciplinary reasons. Cameroonian fans are left to ponder why the federation can let go a world class goalkeeper at this stage of the competition when the country needed him most. The head coach Rigobert Song later begged Onana to stay after realizing that his opinion was correct but it was like the federation had already taken their stand that Onana should be kept out of the team. He stayed with the team the whole night of yesterday when so many thought he had already left Qatar but through an interview he had with equinox TV so many were assured that he will be reinstated in the team. Some influential calls came from Yaounde and that did not quench the fire. This morning , it is now confirmed that he has boarded a flight to Paris after being spotted at the Doha international airport.
