Chelsea have splurged a bucket load on talent since the American’s arrival last May, but injuries and misfortune have undermined the start to Graham Potter’s tenure as manager. The Blues are languishing in mid-table halfway through the 2022/23 season as a result, and they’ve got a lot of ground to make up during the second half of the campaign if they’re to somehow sneak into a top-four spot.
The club’s January business will undoubtedly aid Potter’s cause, but their current deficit is a large one.
