Virgil van Dijk bemused by lack of appreciation for Mohamed Salah’s goal record

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has argued that teammate Mohamed Salah’s goalscoring record does not get the credit it deserves.

Salah bagged the winner in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, moving level with Robbie Fowler into sixth on the club’s all-time scoring charts, matching his return of 183 goals in 71 fewer games.

The goal marked the continuation of another stellar individual campaign for Salah who, despite Liverpool‘s wider struggles, has still racked up 27 goals and 11 assists in 44 games in all competitions.
