Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has admitted he has wished Altay Bayindir well as the Fenerbahce goalkeeper nears a potential move to Old Trafford.
Fred’s five years with United came to an end this summer as Fenerbahce parted with a fee of around £13m to sign the Brazilian earlier this month.
After that deal was confirmed, United returned to the Turkish side to open talks over goalkeeper Bayindir, who has been identified as a replacement for Dean Henderson after a deal was agreed to sell the Englishman to Crystal Palace.
