Barcelona manager Xavi has hailed Ferran Torres for blocking out criticism and fighting his way back into his plans.
Torres has failed to live up to expectations since his £47m move from Manchester City in January 2022, netting just four goals in 33 La Liga outings last season, and many fans called for the winger to be sold this summer.
Xavi, however, regularly stood by Torres in public and has been rewarded with some impressive cameos this season. The 23-year-old is yet to start a game but has managed two goals off the bench – no player has netted more for Barcelona this season.
