Norway have confirmed that Erling Haaland will not feature in Sunday’s meeting with Scotland as a result of the ankle injury he suffered earlier this week.
Haaland came off the bench in the 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands and twisted his ankle, but he played through the pain and played the full second half.
After the match, Norway doctor Ola Sand suggested Haaland had overcome the pain of the injury fairly quickly but, after further checks, the Norway medical chief has now confirmed Haaland will not feature on Sunday against Scotland.
