Junior Hecube Ntone was between the furniture in Cameroon’s 3-1 win over Congo Brazaville on Friday, December 17, at the ongoing UNIFFAC tourney staged in Equatorial Guinea.
The lad from Apejes’ Academy was sensational to say the very least, as he kept Cameroon in the game with unbelievable saves, including parrying out a first half penalty.
Because of his heroics, Cameroon stands a chance of making it through to the next round, if the Democratic Republic of Congo fails to match or surpass Cameroon’s result.
Junior Hecube is back up goalkeeper to Dande Junior (Under-23 and intermediate Lions goalie) at club level.
Apejes Academy has stood the test of time as the country keeps milking from their rich reservoir of unlimited talents.
Players like Samuel Oum Gouet, Serge Tabekou, already with the Indomitable Lions, are testaments to the Academy’s worth.
Most recently, one of the the club’s graduate’s, Yahaya Abdoulaye left for Croatia.
All the grooming of the aforementioned talents and others now playing professional football, is due the club’s adminstrative structure, marshalled by President Zang Aime Leon.
